June 8, 2017.  June here from Beaufort SC:  A few months ago, as I was reading blogs by boaters making a journey like this one, I noted that much of the text was about 1. weather and 2. boat repairs becoming necessary along the way.  Now I understand why.  I will leave it to Howard to document the problems he has had to address with alternators, bilge pumps, fan belts, inverters, and shower heads, to name a few.

As to #1, we've had gray rainy days for about half of our first week out.  Fortunately, though we've motored through some pretty poor visibility, we've not yet had to dock the boat in the rain.  (Setting out fenders and lines on wet decks in a downpour would be no fun at all.)

None of this, however, has kept us from enjoying the charms of the Atlantic Intercoastal Waterway and coastal Old South Georgia and South Carolina:

We were definitely not the largest boat at Thunderbolt Marine.  Huntress, in the foreground, is around 200 feet.  We are 45.
